![]() By the way, plastic utensils with a flimsy napkin in a plastic wrap-McDonalds would blush. Thank goodness I did not order the salmon, as that would have been ugly. Somebody knocks on your door, hands you a bag and off they go. Why? Because then there is no pick-up needed. So no, not what one expects as room service, and again, designed to minimize service, not the opposite. I ordered a burger and not only did they forget (thought they were at least nice enough to call and tell me they forgot, and then comp the burger), but the big surprise is it's delivered in a box! There's a burger, some then-soggy fries (because that's what happens when you put fries in a box-it's called condensation), and like a fast-food drive through they drop in some packets for ketchup and mustard, etc. So understand if you opt for the "green" it really means "Hey, you're on your own." As for room service, don't. But since the front desk is understaffed, for the most part it takes a while to get answered they encourage reusing towels (ok I'm on board with that for a 2-day stay, but again it means no-one is coming through to make sure anything that needs refilling gets refilled. They have a special at your service line on the phone that simply calls the front desk. Thus, nothing telling you the normal information about where things are, what's available where, etc. So that "free coffee maker service" now becomes something you need to chase there is no book of hotel information (this is not unique, so if management says so, don't believe it-this is the third time this has happened at this property so clearly it's intentional. You are invited not to have housekeeping (ok, on a 2-day stay it's not necessary so maybe not too big a deal), but they don't tell you if you opt out of housekeeping they don't refresh the coffee, creamer, etc. In the room, this property takes Spartan to a new level: the room service menu is the smallest I have seen in years everything seems geared toward NOT providing service. At check-in, one gets literally no information nothing about club, restaurants, fitness center (after 48 hours I still don't know if there is one-more on that below). None is a crisis, and all could be contended with, but if you're paying the rates they charge in W-S, contending with shortcomings should not be the goal. Here are a few examples, which set the tone. From check-in through every other aspect, service was lacking. Where this hotel falls down is service (with the exception of the valet, surprisingly enough). and the tv system works fine, with the current ability to use online services like Netflix. The bed was ok but not great a bit inconsistent in terms of its overall feel. The shower pressure is good and is outfitted with the newer trend toward both overhead and handheld in the European style. The space might be a bit more challenging for more than 1, though if it's a short visit, probably tolerable. The bathroom is reasonable sized for one person, so it's good for a business trip. ![]() These hotels may also be interesting for you.Physically, the interior of the rooms are fine-clean, generally good shape (the room I was in appeared refreshed physically within the last 12-24 months).
